No Clown = Great Party!

That clown you hired for your kids birthday is a no show…

The party’s a disaster…

Send the guests home…

Is what we say when we focus on the minutia of our goals.

The party is just a metaphor for our job, our sport, our relationship, our outlook on life.

To be successful and happy…

We must learn to compartmentalize small setbacks and disappointments.

The clown didn’t show up…

Oh well, 30 of your closest friends did…

And you have cake!

I can relate…I had a “clown” cancel on me.

The jazz band that played when my wife and I got engaged was booked to play at our wedding…

A hurricane near New Orleans cancelled their flight and they were unable to make it.

Surprise…

We didn’t cancel the wedding.

Our friends and family were there…

We had the rings…

We had a gorgeous venue…

We got married.

Lots of “clowns” won’t show up for what’s important to you…

Make it a great party!

Focus on what you’ve got!
