Playing it safe is not a long term strategy – Seek some RISK!

If you are anything like me, you bought into the false paradigm…

You went to school, you got the degree, you got the safe job…

So now what?

Cool, now you just try to survive for 40 years so you can collect that penson…right!

Peak performance? Nah, we can just mail in our performance, we’ve done the work that was asked of us.

Does that sound like you are pushing the envelope of your performance?

Is that what you are here to do?

Sit in your cube, wait for the directions, try to stay out of trouble, take the ride to the end…

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here…

Safety is not an end goal.

It’s bullshit. It’s a trap.

It’s meant to keep you from realizing your potential. From making a difference. From achieving the purpose of why you are here.

I’m here to tell you today…I feel unsafe, and it’s OK.

I now realize that the stress from not being safe is where growth happens. It’s where we seek opportunities and get creative.

It’s where artists live perpetually. It’s where innovators and entrepreneurs thrive.

Just like the attached quote says, yes boats regroup in harbors, but they can’t stay there forever. Their meant to go and explore uncharted waters.

If you feel safe…start to question how you can move away from that place and start feeling some stress and uncertainty.

It will push you to find depths of yourself you were unaware of.

I look forward to joining you on this quest, because mailing it in is for suckers!

Let’s blaze our own trail!
